CALDERA | Formed Under Pressure

I called this piece CALDERA because of how it holds the force of the Dominican amber contained at its center.
It carries a dense internal warmth, something compressed, almost volcanic.

Its form is built through angular lines and hand-engraved texture.
I was not interested in making it perfect, but in letting it feel unsettled in the right way, as if the amber were shaping it from within.

The surface stays raw, darkened, and marked by process.
Nothing is polished into stillness.

What remains is a quieter intensity.
A concentrated warmth that gives the whole piece its gravity.

After the noise of transformation,
something remains.
